Immediate Action for National Renewal

Leadership is measured not only by vision, but by the ability to act decisively.

If entrusted with the presidency, Dr Alpha Grace Bangourah’s administration will begin the work of national renewal immediately. The first 100 days will focus on restoring trust in government, stabilizing key institutions, and launching reforms that place Sierra Leone on a new path toward prosperity and accountability.

This initial phase will demonstrate a clear commitment: the era of complacency must end, and the era of responsible leadership must begin.

1. Restore Integrity in Government

Within the first weeks of the administration, decisive steps will be taken to strengthen transparency and accountability across public institutions.

Key actions will include:

  • Launching a national anti-corruption integrity review of major public institutions
  • Introducing strict transparency requirements for public procurement and government contracts
  • Publishing clear reporting standards for government spending
  • Establishing independent oversight mechanisms to strengthen public trust

These measures will send a strong signal that public office exists to serve the people, not private interests.

2. Launch the National Economic Recovery Initiative

The first 100 days will focus on restoring economic confidence and improving the environment for businesses and investors.

Priority measures will include:

  • Establishing an Investor Confidence Task Force to review barriers to investment
  • Simplifying procedures for starting and operating businesses
  • Supporting small and medium-sized enterprises through targeted financial and policy support
  • Initiating reforms to improve fiscal discipline and economic transparency

The goal is to create a climate where entrepreneurs can grow, jobs can be created, and responsible investment can flourish.

3. Begin Agricultural Transformation

Agriculture remains the backbone of Sierra Leone’s economy and a critical pathway to national food security.

During the first 100 days, the government will:

  • Launch a National Agricultural Modernization Program
  • Provide farmers with improved tools, seeds, and training
  • Strengthen rural infrastructure and access to markets
  • Begin the development of agro-industrial zones across key regions

These initiatives will empower rural communities while laying the foundation for a more productive and resilient agricultural sector.

4. Prioritize Youth Empowerment and Employment

Sierra Leone’s future depends on the strength and opportunity of its young population.

Early actions will include:

  • Establishing a National Youth Opportunity Program focused on skills development and entrepreneurship
  • Expanding vocational and technical training initiatives
  • Creating partnerships between government, private sector, and educational institutions
  • Launching youth civic engagement programs to strengthen national participation

The objective is clear: every young Sierra Leonean must have a pathway to opportunity, dignity, and leadership.

5. Strengthen National Unity and Civic Dialogue

National progress requires unity and trust among citizens.

The administration will initiate:

  • A National Dialogue for Unity and Renewal, bringing together community leaders, youth representatives, civil society, and the diaspora
  • Programs that promote civic education, social cohesion, and responsible democratic participation
  • Initiatives that celebrate Sierra Leone’s cultural heritage and strengthen national identity

Building unity is essential for creating the stable environment required for development.

6. Rebuild Confidence with International Partners

In the first 100 days, Sierra Leone will actively engage with international partners, development institutions, and responsible investors.

This includes:

  • Renewing strategic dialogue with international financial institutions and development partners
  • Promoting transparent investment frameworks
  • Expanding cooperation in areas such as education, infrastructure, agriculture, and climate resilience

The message to the international community will be clear:

Sierra Leone is ready for responsible partnership and long-term collaboration.

A New Standard of Leadership

The first 100 days will set the tone for a new era of leadership — one characterized by integrity, competence, and national responsibility.

These early actions are not symbolic gestures. They represent the first steps in a broader transformation designed to build a stronger, more prosperous Sierra Leone.

The nation deserves leadership that is prepared, disciplined, and committed to the future.

With courage, unity, and responsible governance, the next chapter of Sierra Leone’s history can begin.

Together, we rise.
